This “anthology of surprises beyond intention or design” comprises one of four elements representing the diverse fruits of Louie’s doctoral research. Her poems are variously deeply personal, mischievous, earnest and intellectually challenging – conveying the depth and breadth of the terrain Louie has traversed. She finds herself attending to the full gamut of human emotion as she revisits and resolves past and present-day experiences, along with grappling to comprehend new philosophical landscapes and theoretical propositions.
